More Winter Birds

A female Downy Woodpecker

She made a break for the feeder but came back to the suet.

A Red and White reject.  Not in focus for me.

Blue Jays are my favorite because of their color, but I love the chickadees as well. They are very bold and always are first to the seed. They are wicked hard to get a good picture of because they don't sit still for a second.
Again, these are all taken through the window so they are not sharp.

Winter Birds

I have feeders. Lots. I also have Carly's chair that I have placed in front of the side window that gives me a wonderful view of the feeders. I find I sit there often, watching the birds. Its hypnotic.
I was trying to get a Red and White picture with the male cardinal however, after the snowstorm, he seems to have let his mate get the food and he slept in.
Here are a few I took. They are not great. They are blurry and out of focus but its the best I could do through a window and those little guys move so quickly.

I think this is a Carolina Wren. The suet feeder is a favorite.

This is a goldfinch in winter feathers.

This Blue Jay is eyeing the feeder and a second later was on it gorging itself. My favorite to look at because of the color.

From the 366, I learned that I really do not like vertical pictures, however, sometimes you can't get around it. This one needed to be vertical. And I took this with my phone.
I couldn't upload the boathouse door to picasa so I don't have a comparison. I'll try it with one I do have when I think of it.

This was from Lake George at the house we rented. I wish it was a bit straighter but using picasa will make it blurry. Tomorrow I will post the same picture from picasa and you will see what happens.

Queen Anne's Lace

Another reject. I took this with the pool as the background. Queen Anne's Lace was my mother-in-law's favorite. They always made her very happy.

This is a 366 reject. This pictures brings me right back to the beach that summer day.

Snowflakes

I have this thing for snowflakes. I am fascinated by them. My camera (I blame the camera) could never get close enough for a shot like this. Its not mine. Sure is nice though.

Ropes

I took this in August 2012 at the lake house. We had just bought the property but we were renting a house on the other side of the lake. Each day we would come over here and sit on the dock, swim, think, relax, dream. I have another picture similar to this and I like it much better but I cannot seem to find it.
